Aging and Youth
Democratic Chair

The Senate Aging and Youth Committee focuses on legislation that impacts the lives of young Pennsylvanians and older Pennsylvanians. Senator Washington serves as the Democratic Chair of this committee. She plans to use her position to advocate for tougher standards for nursing homes and personal care facilities and to ensure that violations of the public trust are met with adequate penalties. Senator Washington also intends to make sure that our children have access to programs that can play a meaningful role in their lives and that our laws serve children’s interests first because they are our future.
